Lennie Mae Craig Gibson – Obituary

Lennie Mae Craig Gibson, 75, retired employee of Apcom Inc. and resident of Pikes Peak Drive, died Friday, November 3, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:30 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with John Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Born October 12, 1942 in Limestone County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late John Leroy Craig and the late Nellie Mae Sims Craig and moved to Columbia at the age of nine. In 1963, she married James Alvin Gibson who preceded her in death in 1992. She was a 1961 graduate of Columbia Central High School and attended Watkins College in Nashville. Mrs. Gibson was a member of Macedonia Church of Christ.

Survivors include her sister, Annette Dillehay of Columbia; brother, Donnie (Wanda) Craig of Culleoka; nephews, Morris (Jennifer) Dillehay; Jeff (Aubrey) Dillehay; Mike (Vickey) Craig; Scott (Tabitha) Craig; Mark Craig; Dustin (Deddie) Craig; Cheyenne (Tricia) Craig; nieces, Angela (Darrell) Johnson; Shelia (Ricky) Patton; twenty-four great nieces and nephews; and several great great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Faye Gibson; brothers, Mason Craig; Morris Craig; Ronnie Craig; and nephew, Jimmy Dale Dillehay.

Active pallbearers will be her nephews. Honorary pallbearers include church family at Macedonia Church of Christ.
