Lena Marie Sledge Herston, age 86, of Florence, passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 12, noon-2 p.m., at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Shane Swinney officiating. Interment will be at Butler Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Thompson, Austin Thompson, Andrew Brewer and Johnny Greer.
Mrs. Herston was of the Primitive Baptist faith. She worked at E.C.M. Hospital as a nurse for 30 plus years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil M. Herston; parents, Arthur and Ruthie Sledge; four sisters; and four brothers.
Survivors include
children, Arthur Mac Herston (Patrice), Stanley Don Herston (Elvira), Jeanie M. Webb, Laura Jane Brewer;
five grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren.
