Lellyan Mallena Meares Davis, 94, died peacefully in her sleep at Summerford Nursing Home September 15, 2025. She was born February 22, 1931, in Decatur, Alabama and resided in Hartselle for over 50 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband: James Floyd Davis, her parents: Jodie and Estelle Meares, brothers: Louie, Lum, Wayne, Jimmy, Gary, Millard and Willard, her sisters: Martha Miller, Edith Terry, Linda Peterson.
Lellyan’s memory carries on with her living sisters: Connie Wilbanks, Brenda Blankenship, and Vickie Whisenant. Her six children: Jay Davis, Jann Collins, Joyce Brannon, Tim Davis, Patti Posey, and Barry Davis will walk in her footsteps along with grandchildren: Sam Johnson, Martha Bessire, Justin Holt (deceased), Marquita Holt, Mike Davis, Kayla Davis and Emma Davis with these are great grandchildren: Taylor Holt, Hunter Holt, Brandon Davis, Ryder Lam, Heath Davis, Christopher Davis, Mya Henry, Izzy Henry, and Matthew Davis added to these are three great, great grandchildren: Everliegh Mayes, Tucker Grissom and Ellie Grissom.
Lellyan has 28 living nieces and nephews (10 deceased), 80 living great nieces and nephews (two deceased) and 37 great great nieces and nephews.
We can never fill her shoes but we will try to walk her glorious Path.
