Private family graveside service for Leila Simmons Crawford, 91, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m., Monday, November 2nd, 2020 at Cullman City Cemetery, Rev. Steve Rodgers officiating.
Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Crawford passed away Thursday, October 29th, 2020 at Cullman Regional Hospital. She was born August 22, 1929 to Oscar & Mary Whatley Simmons. She attended West Georgia College in Carrolton, GA. There she met and later married Hugh D. Crawford from Lavonia, GA. Leila earned her BS in education from Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, GA and a Master of Arts in Education from UAB in Birmingham, AL Mrs. Crawford was a teacher for 34 ½ years with ten of those years taught in Georgia. She retired from East Elementary, Cullman City in 1990. The Crawfords would live to enjoy 71 years of marriage.
Survivors include her husband, Hugh D. Crawford; a daughter, Lisa Balderrama; three grandsons, Patrick DeMonia, Christian and Jordan Balderrama; one great-granddaughter, Hannah DeMonia.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home.
