Born October 20, 1940 in Hamilton, AL he is the Son of the late Gracey Dee and Zora Bell Carter Underwood and the husband of the late Banks Laraine Cooper Underwood. He had lived in Detroit since 1983, had retired from the ABC Board, and was a member of the Detroit Methodist Church. He was also a veteran of the Viet Nam War having served in the US Airforce.
He is survived by, a daughter, Hope (Robert) Goodman of Fulton, MS, 3 Sons, Mark (Charlotte) Underwood of Hamilton, AL, Chris (Karen) Underwood of Sulligent, AL and Tracy (Bethany) Underwood of Peru, IN, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grand children and a Sister, Mamie Underwood of Adrian, MI.
Services held Friday, December 21, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the Detroit Methodist Church with burial in the Carter Cemetery in Detroit. Bro. Jason Clifton officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Detroit Methodist Church.
