Lee Lamont Farris, 59 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Friday, August 14, 2026. A native of Colorado Springs, CO, he was the son of the late Joseph Edward Farris, and Doris Lavone Phillips Farris. Lee was also preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Farris.
Lee is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carla Garner Farris; children, Kayla Murphy and her husband Jarred of Colorado Springs, CO, Jessi Swinehart and her husband Jon, and Alex Farris of Murfreesboro, TN; three grandchildren, Zeke Farris and Zay Farris both of Colorado Springs, CO, and Delilah Swinehart of Murfreesboro, TN; brothers, Joe Farris of Greer, SC, Dennis Farris of San Antonio, TX, Frank Farris of Rineyville, KY, and Jack Farris of Colorado Springs, CO.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Hope Fellowship Church, 1429 Lee Victory Pkwy Smyrna, TN 37167. The funeral will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, August 20, 2026, following the visitation at Hope Fellowship Church with Pastor Kent Shingleton officiating. A graveside service with military honors will be held at the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at 9:00 AM Friday, August 21, 2026. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Lee was a member of Hope Fellowship Baptist Church, a U. S. Army veteran and a retired educator.
