Lee Hovater, Jr. age 36 of Tuscumbia, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Dec. 2, 2012. His family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Wednesday, 10 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother Billy George officiating and Nathan Alred speaking. There will be a graveside service at Noon in Odem’s Chapel Cemetery, St. Joseph, TN.
Lee was a very special young man, his mother and father’s cherished pride and joy, who loved his family and friends and was loved by all. Lee loved his Alabama football, Special Olympics, Hope Haven, The Shoals UCP Center, and U.A.B. Hospital. His favorite things included The Partridge Family, Dick Clark, Eight Is Enough, and The Brady Bunch.
He is survived by his mother Becky Rhodes Preston (James), his father, Harold Hovater (Vicki), his two nieces, whom he adored, Lyndsay and Kynlee Hovater; brothers, Roger Hovater, Doug Preston, and Jon-Thomas Willett; sisters, Jennifer Collett, Tammy Hovater, Casey Hovater and Amanda Preston.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Y. Lau and U.A.B.’s pediatric cardiology group, Dr. George Evans and staff, along with Dr. Pickett and Huntsville Hospital N.I.C.U.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
