FLORENCE – These days, it might seem that it’s really a “Dog-Eat-Dog” world out there. And then word gets out that some entrepreneurs… Young people, in particular, are opening their doors and their hearts to those of us who are less fortunate.
We came across a good example of this with our friends at Imagine That Bakery and Cafe’ on Court Street. On the counter there, Dana and Shawn Melton have a small glass vase containing a bit of cash. It doesn’t seem like much at first, but when one looks a bit closer and notices why it’s there… Well it can warm one’s heart. The small note says, “Ask us about our Leave A Cup, Leave A Bowl Program”. It’s there to pay for a cup of tea and a nice meal for folks who are in need of some care.
Dana says, “There are times in all of our lives when we are down on our luck and could use a good meal. This program allows the community to leave a Cup of Coffee or Hot tea and/or a Cup or Bowl of soup for someone in need.”
It’s a really nice place to enjoy gourmet food. The Melton’s strive diligently to make guest experiences the best in town. And now with “Leave A Cup, Leave A Bowl”, the experience can be even more rewarding.
BTW… We found out that, in addition to breakfast and lunch, Imagine That now features gourmet dinner service on Thursday and Friday evenings starting at 6:00pm until 9:30.
