Ms. Leandra Towles Young of Arab, Alabama passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at the age of 68. Ms. Young was born June 3, 1953 to Lee Andrew Towles and Anita Abernathy Towles in Bessemer, Jefferson County, Alabama. Ms. Young was a resident of the Grassy community and a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church.
Leandra was a homemaker and an artist. She loved to read, attend yard sales, watching Japanese movies, and baking cakes. She loved her dogs Oliver, Butterball, Coca and Baxter. But most of all she loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ms. Young leaves behind to celebrate her life her two children; M. Brian Young (Dawn) and Heather Young. Also cherishing memories is her brother, George Towles (Virginia); step-brothers, Terry Matthews and Skip Matthews; sister in law, Elaine Towles; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Ms. Young is at last reunited with her husband, James Michael Young (DOD 1/17/19) as well as her parents, Lee Andrew Towles and Anita Abernathy Towles Matthews; step-father, Mason Matthews; brother, Johnny Towles; step brother, Mark Matthews; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A Visitation Service will take place Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Arab, Alabama from 12:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Funeral Service to take place Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Arab, Alabama at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Randy Blakely and Heather Young officiating.
Interment to follow services immediately at the Sweet Home Cemetery, Guntersville, Alabama.
Pallbearers escorting Ms. Young to her final resting place will be Wesley Naida, Gavin Young, Logan Hollaway, Cameron Andrulli, Christian Dabbs, and Mickey Abernathy.
Honorary pallbearers are Doug Towles, Byron Young and John Jones.
