Lawrence J. “Moose” Miller of Gurley passed away Tuesday at his home. He was retired from Morton Thiokol and was a member of Shipps Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Elizabeth Yarbrough Miller; his daughter: Kathy (John) Fields; two sons: Randall (Karen) Miller and Terry (Barbara) Miller, all of Gurley; six grandchildren: Dustin Morring of Gurley, Ashley Morring of Atlanta, GA, Joseph Miller, Heather (Kipp) Richerzhagen, Michael Miller and Logan Miller, all of Gurley; three great-grandchildren: Kayla Miller, Paxton and Hensley Richerzhagen, all of Gurley and his brother: J.H. (Billie Ann) Miller of Gurley. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Callie Morring Miller; two brothers: Alton Miller and Kenneth Miller and one sister: Margaret Cabaniss. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home followed by a Chapel service Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Sam Gulley officiating. Burial will follow in Gurley Cemetery with Berryhill Funeral Home directing.
