Lawrence Edward Karlson, age 79 of Winchester, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. He was born on November 29, 1940 in Superior, Wisconsin to the late John Karlson and Martha Ording Karlson. Lawrence served his country in the U.S. Navy. Before his retirement, he drove a semi-truck for Victory Express Corp. and United Van Lines Corp. An avid Green Bay Packers fan, he enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, cooking, and baking. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steve Sprague; grandchildren, Jade and Alex Karlson; and siblings, Ruth Moriarity, Chet Karlson, Darlene Karlson, Betty Peterson, Richard “Dick” Schnible, and Amos Green. He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Millie Karlson who he married on February 20, 1971; children, Robert Sprague, Dan Sprague, Catherine Karlson, James Karlson, Sean Karlson, Nancy Karlson, Diane Karlson, and Terri Karlson; grandchildren, Nikita Jones Karlson, David Karlson, Chaz Karlson, Kristen Sprague, Lindsay Sprague, Jordan Sprague, Thaddeus Karlson, Kylie Karlson, Annalise Karlson, and Aubrey Karlson; six great-grandchildren; sister, Rita Schnible; and niece and nephew, Jeremy (with three children), and Kayla Schnible (with one child). Visitation will be from 1-3 pm Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Cowan First Baptist Church. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. L. Z. Johnson officiating.
