Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Two After Traffic Stop Charging Them With Several Drug Charges

MOULTON-On July 2, 2025, while conducting proactive patrols in response to community complaints, the Lawrence County VICE/Narcotics Unit initiated a traffic stop involving Scottie Butler and Terry Davis.
During the stop, officers discovered a quantity of heroin and methamphetamine. Both individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Lawrence County Jail. Butler was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Davis was charged with Obstructing Government Operations (Felony) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (x2)
The Narcotics Unit has received multiple reports concerning Butler and Davis, who are suspected of being involved in drug-related activity throughout the county.
Sheriff Sanders extends his thanks to the citizens of Lawrence County for their continued support and vigilance in reporting suspicious activity. Community tips remain a vital part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug operations.
All individuals are presumed innocent, until found guilty in a court of law.
