Lawrence County Drug Bust Nets 20 Pounds Of Marijuana As Well As Meth And Cocaine

LAWRENCE COUNTY-The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement concerning a drug bust that netted a suspect, cash, guns and drugs:

“Lawrence County Narcotics/Vice Unit conducted an investigation into the illegal sales of narcotics within Lawrence County, AL. During that time, Timothy Mayes age 39 of Town Creek was developed as a suspect.
On February 4th, 2022, Narcotic Agents, along with the Lawrence County Special Response Team, executed search warrants on multiple locations within Lawrence County, relating to Timothy Mayes.
Prior to the search warrant executions, Mayes was observed moving large bags from one residence to another. It was later determined Mayes was attempting to move drug related evidence.
Agents located and seized multiple substances. Approximately 20lbs of Marijuana, Methamphetamine (more than 20g), Cocaine (more than 11g) and Prescription Norco Pills were located during the search warrant executions.
Multiple firearms and drug related paraphernalia (digital scales/plastic baggies) were also discovered.
Mayes possessed a large sum of U.S. currency. The currency was seized pending condemnation proceedings.
Mayes was taken into custody and arrested for: Trafficking in Marijuana, Distribution of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine, Distribution of a Controlled Substance Cocaine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.”
All individuals are presumed to be innocent, until proven guilty, in a court of law.
