On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, Lawrence B. Moyer died suddenly at his residence in Saltillo, MS. Larry was born July 18, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Betty Long Moyer. Larry enlisted to serve his country in the United States Navy in 1960, honorably discharging in1964. He then went to work at General Electric for 25 years. He then became owner and operator of Moyer Plumbing Company located in Tupelo for several years. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, granddaughter and great-grandson. Larry’s interests included football, reading, cooking, watching news and history, and debating politics with his son-in-law. He adored his family and will be greatly missed.
Larry’s personal request was to have no formal funeral service after his cremation, which the family is honoring. For those who wish to share special thoughts and remembrances, they may be posted on his memorial page at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/obits.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Lawrence Moyer, and his grandparents.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Geraldine “Geri” Rayburn Moyer; two daughters, Kimberly Terry ( Edward) of Fulton MS, and Kimberly Ann Moyer (Cleveland, OH); two sons, Eric Smith of (Saltillo) and Kyle Moyer of Cleveland, OH; one granddaughter, Brittany Dees, and one great-grandson, Logan Scalf, both of Iuka, MS; two sisters, Carole Thrasher and Susan Mae Moyer, both of Cleveland, OH; one brother, William (Ian) Moyer of California; several nieces and nephews and their families and many friends.
The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers or other gifts, donations in Larry’s memory be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, TN 38105.
