Lawanna Cruce Chastain, 40 of Quinton, passed away March 5, 2025 at UAB Medical Center, surrounded by family, and friends that may as well be called family.
Lawanna was preceded in death by her father, Kevin Cruce; daughter, Bentleigh Grace Chastain; grandparents, Gene and Hazel Cruce and Wanna Kelly; uncles, Larry and Ray Kelly and her aunt, Denise Kelly.
She is survived by her mom, Lisa Kelly Cruce of Dora; her nanny, Thelma Kelly of Graysville; her children, Josie McCollum, Samantha and Karson Kelly and Masynn Chastain; siblings, Jeffrey Kelly (Brooke) and their son Kaiden of Corner; uncles and aunt, Jeff Kelly of Corner and Mark and Cathy Cruce of Graysville.
Lawanna had many friends she considered family. Misty Maherg Harris is her sister by choice since the 5th grade. Misty’s children, whom Lawanna loved very much.
Funeral services will be Sunday March 9, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Brother Buddy Sparkman will officiate. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Sunday from 1-2 pm.
