Ms. LaVerne Vest Power, age 81, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed this life on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at her residence.
Ms. Power was born in Marshall County on November 8th, 1938 to the late Lenard “Pete” Houston Vest and Lola Angie Scott Vest. LaVerne earned her Master’s Degree after graduating high school and retired from the accounting department at International Paper Company. She enjoyed many activities like; quilting, sewing, crocheting, gardening, and entertaining her family and was a member of the United Methodist faith.
Ms. Power is survived by her sons, Mark Alan Power (Susan) and Andrew Power (Melody); daughter, Cynthia Power; grandchildren, Daniel Sparkman (Abby), Sean Power, Matthew Power, Matthew Hubert, George Power and Olivia Power; and great grandchildren; Daniel “Dane” Sparkman Jr.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Geneva Noyes.
Funeral services for Ms. Power will be held on Monday, February 10th, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. with visitation prior to the service beginning at 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Arab Memorial Cemetery
