Laverne Lipscomb Lansdell, 82, of Town Creek was born on December 24, 1930, to the late Ben and Julia Lipscomb. She died Thursday, April 4, 2013, at her home. She was also preceded in death by her son, Sammy Ray “Rooster” Lansdell; two sisters, Eudell Green and Lorene Terry; and two sons-in-law, Jerald Oliver and Dennis Harrison.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Harrison of Town Creek and Daphne Oliver of Moulton; grandchildren, Shane Harrison, Julie Letson and Jacqueline Oliver; great-grandchildren, Brennon Harrison, Jaggar Letson and Madalyne Harrison; and special family, David and Beth Briley, Jonathan, James and Melissa.
Her funeral will be Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Jackson Memory Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Parker and Bro. Stacey Brown officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. just prior to the funeral.
Pallbearers will be Benjie Terry, Michael Terry, Brian Jeffreys, James Briley, Jonathan Briley and Ashley Oliver.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Harrison, Brennon Harrison, David Briley, Jaggar Letson and Chad Letson.
