Laverne Hovater Rutland, age 93, of Tuscumbia, died Monday, August 11, 2014. Visitation will be Thursday, 11-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with David Conley and John McMath officiating. Burial will follow in Barton Cemetery.
Mrs. Rutland was a member of Red Rock Church of Christ and was preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Rutland.
She is survived by her sons; Ralph Rutland (Veda), Gerald Rutland (Elaine), Warren Rutland (Patricia), seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Pallbearers are Mark Rutland, Geoffrey Rutland, Blake Rutland, Kirk Remkus, Mike McCauley and Brian Sarapin.
Honorary Pallbearers are Wendell Riner, Junior Riner, Darryl Rutland, Ben Rutland, Jeremy Skidmore and James Earl Hester.
