Lavern Givens Hall, 90, of Florence, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Green Oaks Inn Specialty Care Assisted Living. She was retired as a bookkeeper at the Mercury dealership where she worked for 22 years. Lavern was a member of Highland Baptist Church. She worked with the Keenagers and Homebound Missions. Lavern taught Sunday school for years and helped begin the Singles Class at HBC. She was a 1954 graduate of Coffee High School.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Greenview Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Greenview.
Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery at Rogers Chapel Church. Officiating will be Chris Underwood.
Lavern was preceded in death by her husband, Sam P. Hall, Jr.; parents, Orbert & Gertie Givens; infant son, Keith Dewayne Kelley; brother, E. W. (Dub) Givens; sister, Sandra Pruitt; infant sister; step-son, Sam P. Hall, III (Madolyn); step-daughter, Katrina Kelley; son-in-law, Jimmy Miller; and nephew, Justin Pruitt.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam Quillen (Darryl), Rogersville, AL; Sam’s children, Bridgett Vines (Gerald), Florence; and Barron Hall, Florida; grandchildren, Kelli Bassham and Katelyn Springer (Dylan), both of Lexington, AL; Sam’s grands, Jessi Vines, Florida, Ben Hall (Jennifer), Arizona, Leah Carney (Garrett) Arizona, Virginia Thornley (Christian), California, Rodney Hall, AL, Matt Hall (Grim), Argo, AL, Barroness Hall, Kuwait and Diane Celyn Hall, Kuwait; great grandchildren, Zach & Kalli Bassham, Lexington, AL, Braxton, Sadie & Kye Springer, Lexington, AL, Harrison & Grace Thornley, California, Dylan, Aiden, & Ava Hall, Arizona, Conner Potts, Arizona; and sister, Margaret Olive, Florence, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearer will be Darryl Quillen, Gerald Vines, Dylan Springer, Jonathan Bassham, Zach Bassham, and Braxton Springer.
The family would like to thank Green Oaks Inn Specialty Care Assisted Living and Affinity Hospice for the excellent care given our mother.
