Mrs. Lavara Threet Clemens, age 99, of Scottsboro, Alabama passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Highlands Health and Rehab. Born in Lauderdale Co. She taught in Jackson County for 30 years at Skyline and Limrock. She enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, and gardening.
She is survived by her daughters, Janice Wilson, Joan Clemens (Curtis Schroeder); son, James Clemens (Linda); sister, Elizabeth Rickard; grandchildren, Scott Wilson (Rita), Colin Wilson (Kristy), Emily Clemens, Julie Clemens; 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Scott Clemens; daughter in law, Barbara Hill Clemens; son in-law, Charles Wilson

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Food Pantry, Cumberland Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Scottsboro Funeral Home with James Clemens officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m.
