Born July 29, 1972, in Tupelo, Lori is the daughter of Rita Dianne Shelton Rutherford of Tippah County and the late Charles Lynn Rutherford. She received her education from Falkner High School and was quite the “Jack of all Trades”. From helping clean houses with Sissy Cox, to working in laundry at Resthaven, or filling orders at Mcdonalds, making pizzas at Pizza Hut and bagging food at Tippah Lake Deli, Lori could do it all. She was definitely a people person and her fun personality and contagious laugh brought everyone so much happiness.
Above all, her greatest joy came from her family. Her favorite pastimes included listening to music, singing, and talking on the phone. Most of her days started with calling to check on her kids, before watching Lifetime on television and ending with another call to her kids seeing how there day was, before hanging up with ” I Love You”. She was a great Mama and there was no doubt she loved her kids more than anything. Whether she served you food at some point, shared a laugh with you, or called just to talk on the phone, you could never forget Lori. That bright smile and lively spirit could light up any room she was in, and her legacy will always be that of a loving mama, wonderful sister, and much needed friend to anyone she knew. She will truly be missed.
Those left to cherish her memories include two daughters, Emily Street, and Gabriella “Gaby” Todd (James), three sons, William Bowen, Zachary Duncan (Mikayla), and Caleb Cardena, one sister, Robin Johnson (Norman), two brothers, Alex Shelton (Meagan) and Nathan Rutherford (Tiffany), seven grandchildren, Sarah Street, Eli Bowen, Jaxon Todd, Rowdy Duncan, Wylder Duncan, Raiden Duncan, and Kennedy Todd, her mother, Rita Dianne Shelton Rutherford, and a special friend, “Joe” Travis Richmond.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Lynn Rutherford, a nephew, Justin Johnson, and a daughter-in-law, Heather Bowen.
Ripley Funeral Home invites you to share memories with Lori’s family.
