Laura Renee Curtis, age 39 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of Franklin County, she was born on June 23, 1983, in Winchester. A dedicated homemaker and pastor’s wife, Laura had a heart for ministry and serving others. She was a devoted Christian woman who loved her church, Liberty Baptist Church, and especially enjoyed the time spent with the women’s group. She loved her children and cherished the time she and her husband spent as foster parents for the last twenty years. Laura enjoyed going to the beach as well as spending time riding four wheelers. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, and mother, and for her loving spirit and nurturing as well as forgiving nature. She was preceded in death by her father, Tony Dale Gilliam; grandparents, Charles and Ruth Gilliam, and Harold and Betty Sue Sanders; and great-grandparents, Johnnie and Winnie Bradford, Elza Vann and Rosa Mae Sanders. Laura is survived by her loving husband of twenty years, Jason Walls Curtis; mother, Patricia Sanders Gilliam; children, Caleb Curtis, Jayden Jackson, Jace George, Jonah Jackson, and Mila Sons; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends; special friends, Nikki Clark, Amanda Vaughn, and April Painter; Liberty Baptist Women’s Group; and beloved dog, Drax. Visitation will be from 5-9 pm on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Liberty Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Jason Curtis officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Moore-Cortner Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
