Laura Shirley PercerLaura Percer, age 69, passed peacefully from life to join Jesus her Savior in Heaven on May 21st, 2024.

Laura’s love for life on earth is beyond measure, as is the love she continually shared for all those around her.  This included not only her immediate family but also her church family at Latham Church, her co-workers during and after her retirement, her many friends, and almost everyone she met.  Laura knew no strangers.  Her giving and caring life and heart were exemplified through her career as a Registered Nurse, unending compassion for the sick and beloved family members, and most recently through the Medical Equipment Ministry she established at Latham Church. Laura never failed to find a way to help someone in need by providing the necessary equipment to make someone’s life easier “at no cost and for as long as they may need it”.

Laura is survived by her loving Husband of 47 years, Steve, her daughter Amy Cook, her son Thomas Percer (wife Megan), four wonderful grandchildren (Kaitlyn and Sam Cook and Steven and Brooke Percer) each of whom she adored, her brother Jimmy Shirley (wife Brenda) and sisters Susan Browning and Margaret Wiginton (husband Rusty), along with several nieces and nephews.  Laura loved her family with all her heart, and her companionship, support, and guidance made her the most wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister that her family
could ever hope to have.  Laura will be greatly missed by her family and all those who knew her.

A memorial service is scheduled at Latham Church in Huntsville, AL on Saturday, June 1st.  Visitation will be held at 10:00am, with service at 11:00 am.

Donations in Laura’s memory will be appreciated and may be directed to the Latham Dollar Club, a ministry dedicated to giving a hand up to those in financial distress, or to Christmas Charities Year Round, which also provides medical equipment to those in need.  Your prayers for Laura and her family are also appreciated.
