Funeral service for Miss Laura “Olivia” Young, age 8, of Decatur, will be Sunday, March 24, 2019, 3:00 p.m. at Epic Church with Pastor IV Marsh officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Olivia, who died Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, was born December 19, 2010, in Decatur, to Clay Sanders and Whitney Cato. She attended Benjamin Davis Elementary School.
She is survived by her father, Clay Sanders of Decatur; mother, Whitney Cato (Trey Garrison) of Decatur; stepsister, Ellie Garrison of Decatur; maternal grandparents, Jeff Cato of Decatur, and Alice Letson (Clayton Armstrong) of Moulton; paternal grandparents, Jeff Sanders (Keiko) of Indianapolis, IN, and Abby Aldrich (Tolly Lamon) Athens, AL; grandmother, Joy Cartron of Decatur; and several uncles and aunts.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Decatur Animal Services, 300-A Beltline Road, S.W., Decatur, AL 35603.
