Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said, “Our office wants to do all in our power to help residents of Lauderdale County, especially the less fortunate.”  License Commissioner William Smith added, “Serving as a board member of the Salvation Army, I know the challenges facing the Salvation Army and other organizations this time of year to feed the homeless and those in need.”

Donations can be dropped off at the Lauderdale County License Commissioner’s Office in the Local Government Building (102 South Court Street in downtown Florence) or the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office located on the second floor of the Lauderdale County Courthouse or at the first floor security station of the Lauderdale County Courthouse beginning December 1, 2015 and continue through January 31, 2016.  The public can bring their canned goods and non-perishable food items to any of the office locations and place them in the Christmas boxes.  All contributions are greatly appreciated.
