FLORENCE-On Saturday, May 30 the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency issued a statement concerning the death of one person involved in the crash of a motorcycle on Saturday morning:
“A single vehicle crash at 12:30 AM on May 30, 2020 , has claimed the life of a Lauderdale County man.
Rockie Gist, 44 was driving a 2007 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle when he left the roadway and struck a bridge on AL. 157 approximately 5 miles north of Florence. Speed was a factor in the crash.
Gist was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lauderdale County Coroner. The crash remains under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.”
