Larry "Yogi" Powers Mr. Larry “Yogi” Edward Powers, age 88, of McMinnville, TN passed away Thursday, May 01, 2025, at his home. He was born on July 16, 1936, in McMinnville, TN, was the retired owner of Yogi’s Village Squire, was a well-known businessman of our community, formerly served with the McMinnville Jaycee Club for many years, excelled in all sports; especially his love for golf. He was known by his grandchildren as “Pa Yogi” and was a loyal Tennessee Volunteer fan. Mr. Powers served on the Babe Ruth and City Ballfield Board of Directors and was instrumental in the development of the Dottie West field, Sam Martin field, and the Edley Newman field. He was preceded in death by his parents Rufus Pitts Powers and Josephine Haston Powers, brothers Don Powers, Howard Powers, and Sidney Powers, sister Joyce Reed, and daughter Lisa Powers Cooper.

 

Yogi is survived by his significant other Gloria Cole, children Lori (Dale) Ehrhardt, Leticia (Gary) Barnes, and Larry (Heather) Powers, Jr., sisters Diane (Felix) Mullican, Lynne Knight (Steve Byars), Vernon (Mia-lan) Powers, Clayton (Diana) Powers, Jeff “Red” (Jackie) Powers, and Rickey (Debbie) Powers, grandchildren Holly (Ward) Bushart, Jessica (Trey) Sneed, Abbey (Josh) Hathcock, Loraen (Luke) Martin, Steven Ehrhardt, and Hunter (Visura) Pathirana, and great grandchildren Emmalee Sneed, Ansley Sneed, Leland Allen, Loa Martin, Lok Martin, Lily Sneed, Colton Ehrhardt, Silas Hathcock, and Lyla Belle Hathcock.
