A Graveside Funeral service and Interment for Larry Wayne Tapscott, 81, will be Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, with Bro. Jerome Ward officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Monday, October 5, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Tapscott died on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at his residence. He was born December 20, 1944, in Morgan County, to Clarence Paul Tapscott and Frances Katherine Wiley Tapscott, who preceded him in death.
Wayne was a pillar of the Cedar Cove Community, Falkville Community and of Mt. Zion Church. He touched many lives with his willingness to help other and his dedication to meet the needs of the community no matter the personal sacrifice.
Wayne was a man of many hobbies, such as bird hunting, golf, going to the dirt track, coaching his girls in softball and watching his grandkids and great grandkids playing their sports. After he retired, he had opened a saw sharpening shop in Cedar Cove, Wayne’s Sharp All Shop, where all the grandkids loved to be with him and play around the shop.
He had a great love for Alabama football and the Alabama girls softball team. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren more than anything other than his wife and his girls.

Ellie Bllackwood, Bradley Ray Hancock, Bryleigh Blackwood, Payton Burgess, Gable Burgess, Barrett Blackwood, L. J. Garrison, Charlie Killough, Leo Parks, Emma Kate Thomas, Temple Parks, Finley Killough, and Evelyn Garrison.
Pallbearers will be Charles Lott, Stacey Blackwood, Jake Thomas, John Paul Garrison, Bradley Ray Hancock, Brad Killough, Patrick Parks, and Frank Thompson
Honorary Pallbearers will be Craig Sams, John Garrison, Harvey Kirby, Rodney Turner, and Gary Thompson.
Wayne was a loving husband, Daddy, Pawpaw and friend. Most importantly he was a child of God.
