Larry Wayne Spires, 76, of Florence, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024, at his residence surrounded by family and friends. Larry was a retired truck driver. He was a member of American Legion Post 11 and a member of VFW Post 5140. Larry was a veteran having served in Vietnam. Larry was a member of Lee Heights Baptist Church.
A graveside service will be Friday, July 12, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating will be Bro. Chris Aday.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Gareld and Nancy Spires.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Spires; daughter, Brandy Jones (Chris), Florence; brothers, Jimmy Spires, Florence and Tim Spires, Wetumpka, AL; sister, Brenda Harris, Statesville, NC; grandchildren, Braxton Jones and Eli Jones, Florence.
The family wants to say a special thanks to his caregivers: Brittney, Jeanie, Sandy, Jackie, and Juanita.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
