Larry Wayne Morris of Weaver, Alabama, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 11, 1939, to Walter and Irene Morris of Jacksonville, Alabama. Prior to his retirement, he worked for M&H Valve Company in Anniston for forty years. He was a long-time member of Weaver Congregational Methodist Church. Other than his family, his passion was serving alongside his church family and community for many events, including several mission trips. He spent nine years as a member of the Army National Guard. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Linda Fagan Morris; daughter, Lisa Morris Smith; son-in-law, Gary Stamper, and many brothers and sisters. He is survived by daughters, Melinda Morris Stamper, and Miranda Morris Fair (Roger); five granddaughters and twelve great grandchildren. Special thanks to his wonderful health care aide, Betty Sturkie, and Enhabit Home Health and Hospice Care for the excellent care they provided.
A memorial service officiated by Rev. Keith Merritt is planned for May 10, 2024, at 11:00 am at Weaver CM Church, 916 Alexandria Rd., Weaver, AL 36277. In lieu of flowers, we ask that any donations in his memory be made to the church or your favorite animal rescue.
