Larry Scott, age 63, passed from this life Wednesday May 27, 2026 at NHC of Sparta from an extended illness. Larry was a Van Buren County native born on June 6, 1962 to Faye Sullivan Scott who survives. Larry was surrounded by his family during his final moments before entering his heavenly kingdom. Larry was an honest hardworking man who loved his grandchildren, family, fishing and hunting. He was a 1981 graduate of Van Buren High School and a lifetime member of the NRA. He attended Cagle Community Church.
Larry was preceded in death by his brother Gary Scott.
Larry is survived by his loving family, mother; Faye Sullivan Scott, son; Chad (Danielle) Scott, daughter; Brittany (Jordan) Bentley, sisters; Brenda (Dennis Paul) Scott, Bea (Bengie) Deweese, grandchildren; Deven and Harper Scott, Maddie, Raylee, Hannah and Malachi Bentley. Special friend and caregiver; Sandra Humble, special friend; Chris Roberts. Thank you to Pam Ferguson and Alicia Bouldin for their special care of Larry during his sickness. A large extended family also survives.
Funeral service will be held Friday May 29, 2026 at 2:00pm in the Layne Chapel with Bro. Darrell Nance and Bro. Wayne Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in Yates Cemetery. Visitation times are Thursday 5:00pm-9:00pm and Friday 9:00am till time of service at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Cagle Community Church and Mooneyham Free Will Baptist Church.
