Larry Russell Wadkins, 80, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at his residence. Mr. Wadkins was a member of Airport Mission Baptist Church. He was formerly employed in road construction and later at the Iuka Hospital. He was a National Guard veteran and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Vernell Wilson Wadkins; one daughter, Denise Medley (Dennis); and one son, Dwight Wadkins (Sherry) all of Iuka; two sisters, Catherine Gentles of Kentucky, and Nona Jean Rich of Cherokee, AL; four grandchildren, Justin, Emalie, Kenlie, and Aleigha; and one great-grandchild, Sawyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Palmer “Pete” and Emma Mae Campbell Wadkins; six brothers, Woody, Hershel, Milford, Clinton, Donald, and Tilford Wadkins; and four sisters, Beatrice Harrell, Celeste Tucker, Faye Martin, and Lena Mae Plaxico. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 25, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Donovan Cain. Interment will follow in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jerry Wadkins, Jeff Wadkins, John Wadkins, Justin Wadkins, Dale Wadkins, and Dale Williams. Honorary pallbearers include Dennis Medley and Charles Lambert. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Friday, September 24, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka
