Larry Neal Jenkins was born February 2, 1949 in Jackson, Tennessee to the late Walter and Alice Jenkins. He was the first child out of fifteen born to this union. The Lord called him home September 9, 2021, at Decatur Memorial Hospital at the tender age of 72.
He received Christ at an early age at Pleasant Plains Church. He also attended East High School as a teenager. He worked twenty plus years at Fiberglass Corporation in Jackson, Tennessee and he also was a faithful worker at The Men’s Shelter in Jackson, Tennessee, for about 5 years until he moved with his daughter Alisha Jenkins in 2013.
He was preceded in death his wife: Mabel L. Jenkins, his oldest son: Larry Neal Wynn,
Teresa & Damien, and one other unknown son, two brothers: Remail Jenkins and Bernard Jenkins and one sister: Tonya Jenkins.
He embraced his children and especially his grandchildren with an encouraging and delicate spirit.
His memory is indelibly etched in the hearts of his daughter: Alisha Jenkins; sons: Rodney Jenkins and Ricky Jenkins all of Decatur, Illinois, grandchildren: Cherise Jenkins, Dawntaja Jenkins, Tempest Lockett, Fabion Jenkins, Patricia Wynn, Alonzo Wynn, Lorenzo Wynn,
Khia Alston, Trashawn Jenkins and Davis ‘Dee Dee’ Lee all of Decatur, Illinois; brothers and sisters: Lewis (Emma) Jenkins of Milan TN, Lee (Yvonne) Jenkins of Medina, TN, Texceria, Orzie, Otha Jenkins and Jennie Turner all of Jackson, TN, Willie (Debra) Jenkins of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Lottie (Kenneth) Jones of Memphis, TN, Dennis Jenkins, Grace Jenkins and John Jenkins all of Jackson, TN. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins aunts, uncles, and friends.
