Larry Keith Turbett of Lakeland, TN was born in Pennsylvania on April 10, 1938, the son of the late Brady Lewis and Alda Mae Bowers Turbett. He married the former Elizabeth Jane Balentine and she preceded him in death on July, 29, 2016.
Mr. Turbett was a retired civil engineer with a long career at Harland Bartholomew and Associates. He was a member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene and a member of the Gideon’s, having distributed Bibles throughout the mid-south area. Mr. Turbett departed this life on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Shelby Gardens Place in Cordova, TN at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 10 days.
Survivors, include, sons, Keith Turbett, wife, Beverly of Arlington, TN and Brady Turbett, wife, Karen of Columbia, TN; grandchildren, Jennifer (Brock) Stewart, Ashley (Andrew) Tinker, Paul (Christina) Bush and Tiffany (Michael) Martin; great-grandchildren, Rylee and Aubree Stewart, Jayden and Jaxon Bush and Elliot Tinker and nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by daughter, Joy Lynn White, grandson, Lane Clanton and sister, Cindy Gutzwiller.
Services will be Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 3 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County, Collinwood, TN with Jake Claunch officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from 1:30 pm to service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Brock Stewart, Andrew Tinker, Paul Bush, Jason Balentine, Caleb Balentine and Roger C. Balentine.
