Funeral service for Larry K. Slater, 74, will be Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Grace Point Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Bailey, Kenneth Roberts and Coach Gary Orr officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Red Oak Cemetery at Cotaco. Visitation will be Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Slater died on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at UAB. He was born June 25, 1946 in Morgan County to Olney B. Slater and Annie Mabel Grady Slater. Mr. Slater was a United States Army Veteran. He was employed by Wallace State Community College as a Coach and a Teacher prior to his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Tom Rice, Keary Rice, Adam Kendricks, Jason Hollaway, John Childers, Adam Cryer, Sean Graham, Calum Naugher, Ryan Childs and Josh Martin.
In tribute to every former player that Coach Slater had the privilege of coaching, it is the families honor to acknowledge all his previous players as honorary pallbearers.
