Larry “Grady” Garner – Obituary

Funeral service for Larry “Grady” Garner, 68, will be Friday, February 23, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Danville Baptist Church with Bro. Joe David Bailey and Bro. Jack Bailey officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Herring Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday, February 23, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Danville Baptist Church.

Mr. Garner died on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.  He was born May 23, 1949, in Morgan County to James Leonard Garner and Velma Inez Breedlove Garner.  He was a member of the Danville Baptist Church and had a great love for the Ironman Community. He loved and cared for all the people of the Community regardless of their status.  He loved to hunt, fish, garden and picking up sweet gum balls. He was employed by Corum’s Building Center and was a farmer. He and his brothers co-owned Ironman Grocery for a period of time.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers: Frank, Rickey and Gary Garner.

The family would like to say a special “Thanks” to Danny and Betty Lewis for all of their loving compassionate care for Larry.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Britnell, Mickey Hembree, Randy Manor, Chris McLemore, Fuzz Dobbins, Brent Breedlove. Jason Hale, Blake Garner, Bucky Garner and  Ross Garner.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Men of the Ironman Community.
