Larry Gene Gladney, age 67, of Florence, passed away Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015. Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Brother Alvin Thigpen and Brother Gary Hanvey officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah Cemetery.
He was a native of Lawrence County, Tennessee, and was retired pastor of Lindsey’s Chapel Non-denominational Church. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Mary Elizabeth and James Sherman Gladney; brother, J.W. Gladney; sisters, Katherine Meyers, Dean Barnett and Alean Benefield.
Survivors are his wife, Judy Gladney; son, Barry Gladney; daughters, Brook Powell and Beth Gobble; stepdaughters, Diane Balentine and Donna Hanley; six grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas Gladney; sisters, Margie Williams, Gaynell Benefield, Ruth Slater and Juanita Clift.
