Larry Eugene WardLarry Eugene Ward, age 83 of Murfreesboro, Tennessee passed away peacefully

on February 10, 2024. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Annette Surline Ward. He was the devoted father of Irene Ward Yates (Eric, deceased), Diane Ward (Mathew Adams) and Kelly Ann Lacey (Ronald), amazing grandfather of Gunnar Ward Lacey (Jessica), Christopher Eric Yates, Alex Robert Yates, Wesley Hammond Lacey (Bre), and exceptional great-grandfather of Georgia, Emma and Will.  His family legacy also includes his sister, Linda Dekker, and sister-in-law Marlayne Cona (Frank) along with many other wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was born and raised in Oklahoma, and after graduating from Oklahoma State University he obtained a Master’s degree from Villanova.  He met Annette in Philadelphia, and decided on their first date that he would marry her one day.  He did, and they spent 58 years together living in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Ohio and Tennessee.  Larry was kind, generous, and had an awesome dry sense of humor.  Along with a successful engineering career and spending time with family, he was an active volunteer and board member with numerous nonprofit organizations and churches over the years.  He was one of the very best, and he will be missed so much.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church (www.stmarkstn.org), Wesley Foundation (www.wesleyfoundationmt.org) or the charity of your choice are appreciated.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 14th at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 1267 N.
