Larry Eugene Geiger passed away on March 31, 2022 at the age of 71 after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Larry was born July 29, 1950 in Sterling, IL. After graduating high school, he proudly served in the Army before completing his electrical engineering degree at Bradley University in Peoria, IL.
In 1976, Larry married his beloved wife, Judy Hyde, and became a devoted father to Andrea “Ani” in 1979. He was selfless and dependable with a successful career that led the family to Texas, Missouri and Upstate New York. To prepare for retirement, Larry and Judy moved to Killen, AL in 2013 where once retired Larry enjoyed fishing, relaxing and tinkering around the house. Larry gained a son in 2015, when Ani married Chris Schulz. In 2017, Larry embraced his favorite role of all when he became “Pops” to Callen and then Camden in 2019. Spending time with his grandsons and watching his daughter be a mother was the greatest joy in his life.
Larry was a researcher and problem solver, both at work and home. He was a dedicated family man and loyal friend with a giving heart. Larry ultimately wanted to see those around him happy. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Larry is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Andrea Schulz and her husband Chris Schulz; grandsons, Callen and Camden Schulz; and sister, Julie Bartolomucci. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Maxine Geiger; and brother, Richard Geiger.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Larry’s life and to honor the wonderful man he was. Date of service is pending at this time.
