Larry Edward Newkirk, 82, of Florence, AL passed away, Thursday, April 24, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Grace Baptist Church in Central Heights. Visitation will be 2:00 P.M. until 2:30 P.M with the Celebration following. His final resting place will be in Long Lane, MO at Cedar Ridge Cemetery.
Larry was a native of Missouri but spent most of his life in Florence. He retired from Lee Clothing Company in 1997. Larry was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted Newkirk and John and Lena Allen; sister, Bonnie Marley.
Larry is survived by his wife of 33 years Linda Newkirk; children, Terresa Taylor, Craig Newkirk, Mitchell Newkirk, and Jared Newkirk; grandchildren, Lauren Taylor, Heath Newkirk, Heather Newkirk Shipley, John Allen Newkirk, Tyra Newkirk, Michael Newkirk, Jarett Newkirk, Dalton Newkirk, Austyn Newkirk, Mikayla Newkirk, Emily Newkirk, and Dillon Newkirk; and 11 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank, Affinity Hospice for their excellent care and Morrison Funeral Home for their professional service. The family would like to request no plants or flowers. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Alabama Kidney Foundation Birmingham, AL.
