Larry Copeland  Larry Dale Copeland at the age of 78 died at North Mississippi Medical Center Tuesday, September 26, 2023. Born in Lee County on August 12, 1945, he was the son of Louis and Katherine Bass Copeland. Following his 1963 Mooreville High School graduation, Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army. During his four-year tour he was stationed in Germany and always recounted fond memories of his time in service. On December 21, 1966, he married his high school sweetheart, Judy Diane Kelly. Larry owned and operated Refrigeration Sales and Service in Tupelo for many years before his official retirement in 2013. Larry had a great sense of humor and quick wit, even being voted most witty during high school. Larry enjoyed gardening, cooking, and fishing.

Larry leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Judy Copeland of Mooreville; two children, Donnie Copeland and Jenny Copeland Stults and her husband, Tracy, both of Mooreville; two grandchildren, Maggie Copeland of Hagerstown, Maryland, and Bona Katherine Mills and her fiancé Nash Lansdell, of Mooreville; three brothers, Lee Copeland and his wife, Bette, of Newbury, South Carolina, Bill Copeland, and Robert “Bunny” Copeland both of Pontotoc; and one sister, Neda Massey of Fulton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Arvel Copeland, and Boyce Copeland.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2023, at Pegues, Tupelo.

Funeral services honoring Larry’s life will be 12 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Rev. Kenneth Pollock officiating. Graveside services with Military Honors will follow at Gilvo Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Randy Copeland, Billy Copeland, Tom Horgan, Trent Kelly, Brandon Williams, and Nash Lansdell.

Butch Copeland will serve as honorary pallbearer.
