Larry Birt was born July 5, 1958 in Lawrence County, Alabama to the late Annie Ruth Kellogg and Willie Birt. He went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Spalding Memorial Center in Griffin, Georgia. He professed his life to the Lord on March 21, 2004 at Pleasant Grove Church in Athens, Alabama.
Among those that preceded him in death, brothers, Henery Birt and James Thomas Jennings; sister, Mary Ann Birt.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Melinda Birt; three children, Larry Carthen, Melissa Birt, and Larryel Williams; eight grandchildren; nephew, Thomas (Moon) Birt; three brothers, James Earl Jennings, Michael Birt, and Robert Birt all of Chattanooga, Tennessee; five sisters, Mary Birt, Carolyn Birt, Lisa Birt, Tina Birt, and Annie Birt all of Chattanooga, Tennessee; a host of nieces, nephews; devoted-in-laws, Eugene and Rosie Carthen and Judith Birt.
Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Royal Chapel of Memories with Pastor John Jude officiating. Interment will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace.
Public viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 21, 2017 and 8:30 a.m. until service time Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Royal Funeral Home.
