Mr. Larry Bentley, age, 74, passed away at his home, on Sunday January 11, 2026, at Big Sandy, TN. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 16, 2026, at 2pm, in the chapel of Shelton Funeral Home with Ken Smith officiating. Burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery, in Trenton, TN. Visitation with the family will be held from1pm until service time in the chapel of Shelton Funeral Home.
Larry taught general building trades for 34 years in Arkansas and Virginia. His students’ successes made him extremely proud. Larry was an avid fisherman and collector of all things vintage. Kind, generous, and thoughtful are words that describe him best. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. We all loved him dearly and he will be sorely missed.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Catherine Bentley, and a grandson, Austin Trypuck Sigler.
Larry is survived by his wife, Anita Bentley (previously Anita Pence of Trenton); two daughters, Sherry Bentley-Short (Paul) of Louisburg, NC, and Catherine Bentley (Frank) of Paris, TN; a brother, Bobby Reed (Mona); sisters Carol Patton, Virginia Partlow (Billy), and Brenda Morales (Al); a granddaughter, Autumn Winters (Corey) of Louisburg, NC; two stepchildren, Tiffany Felton (Jeramy) of Trenton and Andrew Blankinship (Kristie) of Humboldt; seven step-grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren.
Larry loved his blood family and his stepfamily with all his heart. His greatest joy in life was being with his family.
