Larry “Allen” Garner, a beloved father, grandfather, friend, and skilled carpenter, passed away surrounded by family on April 11th, 2025 in Lexington, TN at age 74. Born in Henderson County on February 24th, 1951, Allen Garner lived a life dedicated to his family and his trade. As a “Jack of all Trades,” he built and remodeled beautiful homes, his creations as a testament to his dedication and skill, specifically tile work and hardwood flooring. He was known widely for his talents. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, nature and animals. Let us not forget his love for flea markets and pawn shops. His love for his family was unwavering. If you saw him out and about, you would meet with a stern handshake and a great conversation (or debate depending on the topic.) He was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Larry “Allen ” Garner is survived by his three daughters Jennifer Hopper, Crystal Azbill, and Candace (Brandon) Goodman; seven grandchildren, Haley (Tony) Jones, Cody (Kristen) Fisher, Abby (Cody) Hart, Jacob (Kyra) Powers, Zachary (Savannah) Goodman, Matthew Azbill, and Natalie (Hunter)Bronson; thirteen great grandchildren; his mother, Callie Marie Garner; sisters, Carolyn Bain, Betty Miller, and Judy (Charles) Johnson; his brother, Ricky Garner; and a beloved friend, Nancy Garner. He was preceded in death by his father, James Matthew Garner and brother, Danny Garner.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:30 PM, Monday, April 14, 2025, in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Old Jacks Creek Cemetery.
