Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Mr. Lannie Looney Ikard, age 91 of Alto. Mr. Ikard passed from this life on January 10, 2017 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Winchester. He is preceded in death by his mother, Gladys May Looney and his father, J. L. Ikard; sister, Martha Ellen (George) Smith; brother, Newell Standifer Ikard. He is survived by his wife of more than 69 years, Betty Lucas Ikard; daughters, Rena (Danny) O’Connor of Knoxville and Lannette (the Rev. Randy) Dunnavant of Nolensville; son, Lanson (Shirley) Ikard of Murfreesboro; nephew, Stephen (Gwyn) Smith of Lafayette, LA; grandchildren, Beth (Sam) Sunderland, Laura (Jim) Newman, Jessica Dunnavant, Jennifer (Anthony) Reda; great-grandchildren, Josh (Erica), Kaitlin, Lathan, Lexi, Sadie, Austin, Ella, Oliver, Addie, Nora, and Gus; great-great granddaughter, Annistyn, and other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Watson-North Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jeremy Taylor of Alto United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd. Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Newman, Sam Sunderland, Josh Wallace, Danny O’Connor, Phillip Duncan and Randy Buckner.
