L. D. Phifer- Obituary

L. D. Phifer, 87, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Monday, September 17, 2012, at his residence. He was a member of Campground United Methodist Church. He worked for Chunky Chambers Ford, and was a retired game warden with the Mississippi State Game and Fish Commission. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 8 PM on Tuesday, September 18 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Rev. Robert Armstrong. Interment will follow in Campground Cemetery. Pallbearers include Noonan Phifer, John Norris, Wendell Phifer, Wayland Phifer, Jimmy Whitfield, David Whitfield, Gary Kennedy, and Larry Cutshall. Honorary bearers will be Dr. Al Flannery and Jimmy Owen Phifer. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Moss Phifer of Iuka; 1 son – Bobby Phifer (Lyndia) of Iuka; 1 brother – M.B. Phifer of Burnsville 1 grandchild – Benny Phifer; and 1 great grandchild – Ben Phifer; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Dona Belle Phifer; and 3 brothers, Oris, Owen, and Cecil Phifer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Campground Cemetery Fund.
