Kurt David Ingenthron of Madison, Alabama passed away on Monday, January 6th, 2025, at the age of 68. Kurt was born on August 23, 1956, in Topeka, Kansas to Robert Bernard Ingenthron and Shirley Joan Ingenthron, the second of six boys. The family moved frequently, spending years in California, Florida, and Alabama.
In 1975, he followed his older brother, Rob, to New York City and worked briefly at the Public Theater, running follow-spot for the original off-Broadway production of A Chorus Line, and serving as a carpenter for the play Fishing, starring Tommy Lee Jones and Lindsay Crouse, and the musical Kid Champion starring Christopher Walken.
The following year, he returned to Alabama and began a long career at Intergraph in 1978. He started as a software developer and worked his way up to Executive Vice President & Chief Technology Officer of Process, Power & Offshore, retiring in 2005.
He was preceded in death by parents, Bob and Joan, and brothers, Matt, Rob, Eric, and Mike.
Survivors include daughters, Blair Ingenthron and Laura Webb; son-in-law, James Webb; granddaughter, Elaine Webb; brother, Doug Ingenthron; sister-in-law, Rosalyn Ingenthron; niece, Camille Mosior; nephews, Blake Ingenthron and Christopher Ingenthron; and former spouse, Susan Ingenthron.
