Krystyna Chaberek, 72, of Gurley, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025. A retired nurse, Krystyna devoted her life to caring for others-both in her profession and at home. She was a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a source of strength and kindness to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Zdzislaw “Joe” Chaberek; her parents, Zygmunt and Zofia Parzych; and her brother, Zygmunt Parzych Jr.
Krystyna is survived by her children: Izabella Pietrantoni; Barbara Chaberek (Patrick Connors); and Adam Chaberek (Kari); as well as her five grandchildren: Zackery, Samwise, Hazel, Joey, and Jeffery (“Andy”); and three great-grandchildren: Alessia, Elijah, and Ryver. She is also survived by her sister, Zofia Polkowski (Ryszard), along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
Krystyna will be remembered for her warm heart, tireless dedication to family, and the quiet grace with which she lived her life.
Services are planned for Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 9am at Sacred Heart Basilica Church in Syracuse, New York
