Kristine Ann “Kris” Smith Holley of Sumiton passed away on January 24, 2023 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL. She was born September 1, 1944, in Petaluma, CA. While a grade schooler, her family moved to Florence, AL where, in 1960, she graduated from Coffee High School. She then continued her education at Mississippi State University for Women and North Alabama University. While visiting in Dora, she met Joe Paul Holley and the two married on February 26, 1966. She is the longtime owner of Rosemont Florist.
A graveside ceremony will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 27, 2023, at New Horizon Memorial Gardens, Dora, AL. Bishop Toby Morgan will officiate.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alice and Pete Smith, brother Pete Smith, Jr. (Jeanette) and nephew Samuel Lee Smith.
Kris is survived by her spouse, Joe Paul Holley of Sumiton, AL; son, Kevin Paul Holley (Lorrie) of Trussville, AL and beloved grandchildren, Campbell, Christian, Chandler, Carter and Catherine Holley all of Trussville, AL.
She is further survived by her brother-in-law, Tommy Holley (Brenda) of Sumiton, AL, niece Kelly Black (Ryan) of Jasper, niece Kim Spivey (Stephen) of Sumiton, AL, nephew Hugh Smith of Mountain Brook and niece Jennifer Smith of Jasper, AL.
