“Loving, caring, and beautiful.”

Kimberly Kay Johnson Ferguson, age 33 of Lawrenceburg, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016.

Kim was born on July 23, 1983, in Huntsville, Alabama to Ricky Johnson and Maybelline Simmons Quattlebaum. She was also loved and raised by Jack Smith. Even as a child, Kim proved to those around her that she would be independent. Her mother recalls waking Kim up on the first day of Kindergarten, and she never had to again. Every night she selected what she was wearing the next day because she was a planner. The smallest details were large to her, and they needed to be perfect.

Becoming a mother was the biggest accomplishment of Kim’s life, and she loved both of her daughters very much. Making a home, caring for them, and providing a clean environment consumed her life, and she loved every minute of it. Shortly behind the love for her daughters you would find Zach, her husband. Kim often recorded the love she had for her daughters and Zach. It was not uncommon to read a sweet note left on the mirror or refrigerator to reassure him how much she loved him. The favorite time of her day was coming home to spend time with family, and ending the night under one roof. According to her journal, “The three of them are my whole world!”

Kim loved working, her family would add that she loved it too much. She strived every day to take care of those around her the way she wanted to be taken care of. She previously worked in the Emergency Department at Maury Regional Medical Center, Admissions at Signature Healthcare, and most recently, NHC Pulaski. These jobs led her to meet some of the best friends of her life, and she loved the experiences and friends she met along the way.

Her dedication, compassion, and zest for life left an everlasting impression on anyone that met her. In her honor, please love someone, smile at someone, or help someone in need.
The family will gather with friends on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and Wednesday, December 14 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens.

Kim is survived by her loving husband, Zach Ferguson; the center of her world, her daughters, Zoe Kayde Kilpatrick and Zayleigh Kay Ferguson; mother, Maybelline “Tammy” (Jason) Quattlebaum; father, Jack Smith; brother, Josh Smith; sisters, Jennifer Flinchum and Melissa Harrison; father and mother-in-law, Ronnie and Vickie Mix; and brother-in-law, Cody and Keilah Ferguson.
